On Main Street in West Creek, Calloway's Restaurant and Bar is one of the township's few dining spots and a local gathering place. A short drive away, Dock Drive is where people go at dusk to watch bald eagles and belted kingfishers working the salt marsh.
West Creek is Eagleswood Township's small central village, home to Eagleswood Elementary School and most of the township's limited commercial activity. The rural sections around it offer larger, more secluded lots for buyers who care more about land and privacy than a town center. I've lived in Ocean County my whole life, so if a house catches your eye, call or text me and I'll tell you what that part of town is really like.
Life here is rural by Jersey Shore standards. Eagleswood has no boardwalk and no real downtown, and with no police department of its own, New Jersey State Police Troop C handles law enforcement from a station in the township. Errands mean a drive to Little Egg Harbor, Tuckerton or Manahawkin, all close enough for daily needs.
Part of the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge reaches into Eagleswood, and Dock Drive is a well-known birdwatching spot, with sightings of bald eagles, greater scaups and cedar waxwings among dozens of species. Long Beach Island is a short drive, without the island's price tag or summer crowds.
West Creek housing is mostly single-family, and the age range is wide. The active listings run from houses built in the mid-1800s to homes finished in 2024 and 2025. Eagleswood doesn't have the lagoon or bayfront neighborhoods its neighbors have, so this is inland living close to the marsh and the refuge. The West Creek mailing address also reaches into part of neighboring Stafford Township, so confirm the township on any listing.
As of October 2026, 11 homes are listed with a West Creek address, priced from $274,900 to $1,150,000.
Wetlands and buildable land. Much of the township is wetlands or next to the refuge, which limits buildable lots. As a certified zoning officer, I'd confirm buildable status and any wetlands restrictions with the township before assuming a lot can be used the way you're picturing.
Older houses. Some homes here date to the 1800s. I spent more than ten years in code enforcement, and on a house that old I'd want a thorough inspection of the structure, the systems and any past additions.
No Parkway exit in town. The closest exits are Exit 58 in Little Egg Harbor and Exit 63 in Stafford, which adds a few minutes to any highway trip.
School district. Elementary students attend Eagleswood Elementary School in West Creek. Grades 7 to 12 attend the Pinelands Regional School District, with the junior high and high school both in Little Egg Harbor.
Nearby neighborhoods
West Creek gets overlooked because it doesn't look like a shore town on paper. Before you rule it out, ask me how the tradeoff between land and quiet and a drive for errands plays out day to day.
