About Matt Quinn
Local Knowledge. Shore Results. Updated October 2026I grew up here in Ocean County, in the same towns I now help people move into. The one exception was college. I went to Monmouth University and lived in Long Branch and Elberon during those years. That's the only stretch of my life I haven't called Ocean County home.

A Lifelong Ocean County Resident, Helping People Fall in Love with the Jersey Shore
Every chapter of my life outside of college has been here. I'm a father of three, and I coach and volunteer with local youth sports. They're the same leagues and fields a lot of my clients' kids end up playing on. That's how I experience these towns day to day, long after the closing.
It's also how I work. I'd rather tell you the truth about a town than sell you a postcard. I'll tell you what it's like on a Tuesday in February as well as a Saturday in July. If a town is the wrong fit for what you want, I'll tell you that too, and I'll point you toward one that fits better.
A Background Most Agents Don't Have
Before real estate, I spent years in public service and hands-on trade work. It gave me a different view of these towns and these homes than most agents ever get.
Construction. I worked construction for three years. I can walk into a house and recognize what a renovation or update is going to cost, without guessing from a listing photo.
Law enforcement. I served with the Ocean Township (Waretown) Police Department from 2007 to 2011, and I retired from law enforcement following my involvement in a critical incident.
Health inspection. After that, I worked for two years as a health inspector for the Ocean County Health Department. I covered the entire county, rather than a single municipality.
Code enforcement and zoning. Since 2016, I've served as Manchester Township's Chief Code Enforcement Officer. I also hold certification as a Zoning Officer, which I maintain every year.
All of that means I've walked through a lot of homes, neighborhoods, and towns in an official capacity. I've inspected them, enforced code on them, reviewed zoning on them, built and repaired them, and responded to calls in them. I notice things, and I ask better questions because of it. I know where zoning tends to get enforced strictly, what health and safety issues tend to show up in older housing stock, and roughly what a renovation is likely to cost before a contractor ever gives you a number. That's what "Local Knowledge. Shore Results." means to me.
To be clear about my role: I work with you as your real estate agent. My background sharpens my judgment and my questions. It doesn't replace your attorney, your home inspector, or a town's own zoning and code officials, and I'll always point you to them directly for anything that needs an official determination.
Licensed for 10 Years. Full-Time Since 2023. The Difference Shows in the Numbers.
I've held my real estate license for 10 years. In 2023, I went full-time and put everything into this market. The numbers tell that story better than I can. In my first seven years, working part-time alongside everything above, I closed 16 transactions. Since going full-time in 2023, I've closed 36, doubling my prior volume in about half the time.
Going full-time is what happens when real estate stops being something you do around the edges of a career and becomes the career. Those 50+ transactions include a sale as high as $1,225,000, so I can work at the top of this market when that's where a client needs me.
My deepest track record is in Lacey Township, with more than a dozen closed transactions in Forked River and Lanoka Harbor alone. I also have repeat experience in:
- Berkeley Township
- Little Egg Harbor
- Manchester Township, particularly Whiting's active-adult communities
- Barnegat Township
- Stafford Township (Manahawkin)
- Toms River
- Brick Township
- Point Pleasant
- Wall Township
- Monmouth County towns like Highlands and Atlantic Highlands
What I Actually Do
I work with buyers and sellers across Ocean and Monmouth counties. I have particular depth with:
- Move-up buyers and downsizers
- Relocation clients moving from out of state
- Luxury and new construction
- Foreclosures
- Commercial properties
- Lot and land sales
If you're moving to the Jersey Shore for the first time, there's a good chance I've helped someone in a situation a lot like yours.
I hold a 5.0 rating across platforms, with 20-plus five-star reviews on Google, earned one closing at a time.
What Other Professionals Say
Most agent websites show you client reviews. I want to point out something a little different. Several of my reviews come from people whose job is to judge whether an agent is competent and easy to work with, and none of them were my clients. A title company representative, a mortgage professional, and two separate cooperating sales agents on opposite sides of a transaction have all left reviews after working with me behind the scenes.
That's a different kind of trust signal than a happy buyer. It's colleagues in the industry vouching for how I operate when they're the only ones watching.
My Commitment to You
If you're deciding between towns, I'll walk you through the tradeoffs of each one, including the reasons a town might be wrong for you. That approach is slower sometimes. It's also the only way I know to build a business that lasts here, one referral and one repeat client at a time.
If you're thinking about relocating to the Jersey Shore, reach out. I'll help you figure out whether it's the right move, and if it is, exactly where.
