Drive Route 79 north out of Morganville and you reach Route 34 in Matawan in about two and a half miles. Head south on the same road and Freehold Borough, the county seat, is roughly eight miles away. In between sits a section of Marlboro with its own identity, its own post office and its own ZIP code. It includes Georgetown Estates, one of the township's most exclusive enclaves, known for custom-built homes on big properties.
I've closed more than 50 transactions across Ocean and Monmouth County. If a house here catches your eye, call or text me at (609) 709-2742 and I'll tell you what that street is really like.
Morganville is at the northern end of Marlboro Township in northern Monmouth County, and Route 79 runs right through it. The high ground at Mount Pleasant, in the southeast part of the community, reaches 364 feet. Daily errands lean on the Route 9 and Route 79 corridors, where Marlboro keeps most of its shopping and dining.
For New York, Marlboro's Route 9 corridor has direct commuter buses to the Port Authority in Manhattan. Driving takes close to an hour, and the Garden State Parkway is reachable at Exit 123. Pick the option that fits your work schedule before you pick the house.
Outdoors, Marlboro's Big Brook Park draws birdwatchers and people who like to get outside. Thompson Park in nearby Lincroft adds miles of hiking trails and picnic areas.
The housing here covers a wide span of years. On the current MLS list you'll see farmhouse-era homes from the 1800s and early 1900s on older roads like Tennent Road, 1960s and 1970s subdivision homes in neighborhoods like Whittier Oaks, larger homes from the 1980s through the 2000s, a few condos and townhomes, and new construction finished in 2026. This is inland suburban housing, so there are no lagoons or bulkheads to think about.
As of October 2026, there are 34 active Morganville homes and condos on the MLS, listed from $240,000 to $4,950,000.
Speed. Marlboro homes in good condition and a good location routinely go under contract within days. Have your financing and your decision-making ready before you start touring seriously.
Schools. Morganville is in the Marlboro Township School District for pre-K through 8th grade. High school students are part of the Freehold Regional High School District.
Renovation permits. Some residents describe slow or difficult experiences with the township's construction and certificate-of-occupancy process. I'm a certified zoning officer, and I can walk you through what to expect before you're deep into a renovation timeline.
Age-restricted housing. Marlboro has 55+ communities, including Rosemont Estates and Marlboro Greens. If a condo or townhome catches your eye, confirm whether age rules apply before you write an offer.
